What could be worse than death? Think about it. Losing battery on your phone right before you post that gorgeous selfie? Having everyone forget your birthday? Accidentally sending all your life savings to a prince overseas because of a spam email? Or perhaps, being locked in a tight room all alone, for as long as 40 years. This is solitary confinement. It’s given to the worst of the criminals. And right now, as long as someone can be deemed dangerous, authorities are allowed to lock someone away in isolation for as long, and as often as they want. In this video we’ll take a look at what exactly can happen to a person’s mind and body when locked away with nothing but a toilet and bed for 24 hours a day. Do you think you could handle it? Why don’t you come back to that question after this video. You’ve seen what solitary confinement can look like in movies or Netflix shows, but here we’ll bring you real life accounts of criminals’ time in SHU (Special Housing Unit). If this video scared you straight, give it a thumbs up. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit that bell notification too!
