Music Video Download – Richard Lewis sings Songs of Great Britain – LIVE

Last Updated on

Here is the tenor singing four songs from the British Isles from a concert in 1963.

1. “Is My Team Ploughing” by George Butterworth
2. “The Stuttering Lovers” arranged by Herbert Hughes
3. “I WIll Give My Love an Apple” arranged by Vaughan-Williams
4. “The Plough Boy” by William Shield / arranged by Benjamin Britten

(The “Plough Boy” comes from a comic opera titled “The Farmer” by William Shield (1748-1829). Over time, it came to be thought of as a folksong. Benjamin Britten arranged this piece and it is part of his collected folksongs.)
